Girona FC got a well-deserved point in the opening game of the 2019 year, after managing a fought draw against Levante (2-2) at their tough Ciutat de Valencia stadium.
It was a bittersweet feeling for Girona players, who led the game two times. In the first half, Portu made the opener taking advantage of a clever assist from Granell (31'). Morales equaled after the break (58'), Aleix Garcia put Girona ahead again with a powerful and well-placed kick and with only five minutes to play Coke sealed the definitive 2-2 with a fortunate shot.
Girona's line up was formed by Bonou; Ramalho (Alcalá, 92'), Bernardo, Juanpe; Pedro Porro, Douglas Luiz, Aleix García (Valery Fernández, 83'), Granell; Portu (Lozano, 74'), Borja and Stuani.
Girona already have 23 points and are in the middle range of the table. Eusebio's team will close the first round of play next Saturday against Alaves at Montilivi.
