Bad luck for Girona FC in their LaLiga Santander first game of the second round. Eusebio's team completed a good performance against a tough team in their own stadium, Real Betis, but lost the game in the last action and with a goal from the penalti spot.
Tello gave Betis the lead with an extraordinary free kick (12') but Aleix Garcia (36') and Doumbia (44') sealed the comeback before the break. In the beginning of second half, Loren equaled the game (54') and in the injury time Douglas Luiz fouled Lo Celso inside the box and Canales scored the definitive 3-2 (94').
Girona's line-up was formed by Bonou; Alcalá, Bernardo, Juanpe; Pedro Porro (Ramalho, 61'), Pere Pons, Aleix García, Valery Fernández (Muniesa, 72'); Portu, Borja García and Doumbia (Douglas Luiz, 78').
This coming week, Girona will play two very important games, against Real Madrid in the Spanish Cup quarter-finals first leg and against FC Barcelona in LaLiga Santander.
