A meteoric progression

Lazar Carevic, goalkeeper of FC Barcelona B and the Montenegro U21 National Team, joined Media Base Sports family.

Lazar Carevic (Cetinje, March 16, 1999) is a goalkeeper who stands out for his great size and also for his good ability to reflect when it comes to tackling under sticks. His meteoric career in Montenegro placed him on the agendas of all big teams in Europe in 2017 and he finally chose FC Barcelona.

The Balkan goalkeeper grew very fast in Montenegrin professional football. With only 16 years old became the owner of the goal of OFK Grbalj, Montenegro’s 1st Division club. In less than two seasons he added 75 games in the highest category of his country. This fleeting ascent also led him to Montenegro National Team, where he is already a key player in the U21 Category.

His evolution didn’t go unnoticed in Europe and teams like Real Madrid CF, Manchester City, Chelsea or FC Barcelona wanted to sign him as one of the most outstanding goalkeepers of the moment throughout the continent.

Lazar chose FC Barcelona, where he has already added three seasons. In his first year he was proclaimed champion of the UEFA Youth League and he was part of a historical generation. But last two years he weren’t able to enjoy the opportunities that he would have wanted due to two long knee injuries.

Currently, he is fully recovered from his meniscus and confident that he can continue to evolve as a footballer. He has the qualities and the ability to work. So opportunities to take off again will not be lacking for him.
