SD Huesca goalkeeper Álvaro Fernández has been called-up by the Spanish U-21 National Team to play the European Championship.
The format of the continental tournament in this edition has been divided into two phases due to the extraordinary situation of Covid-19. The National Team will play the Group Phase next March and if they qualify as first or a runner-up will be in the Final Phase that is held from May 31 to June 6.
Spain U-21 will begin their defense of the title with three games in Slovenia, where they will seek to obtain the ticket for the Final Phase. The first will be against the host team, Slovenia, on March 24. On the second day, they will face Italy on March 27 and close the Group Stage against the Czech Republic on March 30.
Luis de la Fuente's team wants to take another step forward in this edition to be able to enter the history of the competition and to be the team with the most titles. Currently, ‘La Rojita’ and Italy are the National Teams with the most European Championships (5) in their showcases.
