Girona took another key step in its hard challenge to promote to the First Division after beating Mirandes (0-2).
Pablo Machin team dominated the game from the first to the last minute but only could score in the last minutes. Fran Sandaza gave Girona the lead (83’) with an impressive shoot with his left foot and only three minutes later Longo signed the second gol from the penalty spot.
Girona’s line-up was formed by René; Alcalá, Ramalho, Juanpe; Pablo Maffeo, Granell, Pere Pons, Mojica (Aday, 59’); Portu (Borja, 62’), Cristian Herrera (Longo, 75’) and Fran Sandaza.
The red-and-whites has 52 points and remain in the second place of the table behind Levante with an eight points advantage over the third, Tenerife. Next Girona will face Getafe, another candidate to reach the First Division, at Montilivi (18 h.)
