Atletico Madrid and Olympique Lionnais, two of the best teams in Europe, have done their homework and have passed their respective round of the UEFA Women's Champions League Round of 32.
Laia Aleixandri's team beat Servette 8-2 on aggregate. The ‘red-and-white’ suffered a little more than necessary in the first leg in Switzerland (2-3), but they have successfully closed their first meeting in Europe in the second leg with a 5-0 victory.
More complicated was Olympique Lionnais in the first round, but the current European champions have not failed against Juventus and will also be in the next phase of the continental tournament. Jéssica Silva's team won 2-3 in Turin and sealed their qualification with a 3-0 victory in France.
Atleti and Lyon will face their rivals in the knockout stages of the Champions League Round of 16 on February 16th, the day the draw will take place at UEFA headquarters in Nyon.
