The killer Bakambu took advantage of a Girona's bad start of the game and the locals got their third straight defeat at home against Villarreal (1-2).
Bakambu put the 0-2 in the scoreboard in the 20th minute thanks to his great speed and misunderstanding between the three local centre-backs.
In spite of comfortable control of the game by the visitors, Stuani pulled one back for the locals back-heeling the ball in a corner.
In the second half, Girona recovered the ball possession and were clearly better than Villarreal but showed lack of precision and missed good goal chances.
Girona's line up was formed by Gorka Iraizoz; Ramalho, Bernardo, Juanpe; Pablo Maffeo, Pere Pons, Granell (Kayode, 46'), Aday (Mojica, 64'); Portu (Douglas Luiz, 78'), Borja and Stuani.
Next Girona's league game will see them face Deportivo at Riazor on October 23rd (9 pm).
