Eighth King's Cup in a row

FC Barcelona Handball remains intractable at the national level after winning the 2021 King's Cup.

Barça celebrated their eighth consecutive cup title at the WiZink Center in Madrid and 25th of their history, after beating Logroño La Rioja in the quarterfinals 28-24, defeating Fraikin BM Granollers in the semifinals by 22-32 and prevail in the final with an impressive victory over Ademar León (27-35).

Gonzalo Pérez de Vargas has once again been a key piece for the culé team and the goalkeeper from Toledo has added his eighth King's Cup on a personal level, but not consecutively. The goalkeeper lifted his first Cup in 2010, but his loans to Fraikin BM Granollers and Fenix Toulouse HB prevented him from winning this title again until 2014. Since his return, he has celebrated the seven that he has played.

The record of the goalkeeper from La Mancha remains on the rise and he has already added 35 titles with FC Barcelona. Records that will continue to grow and that place Gonzalo as one of the most important players in the blue and red history of handball.
