Girona, in 2nd place

Girona rounded off a great performance in Montilivi with a 3-1 win against Lugo (3-1), another candidate for promotion to the First Division. This is Girona’s fourth consecutive game without losing.

The local team took advantage with an early goal scored by Borja (4') after a brilliant play by Coris. Two minutes later, Carlos Hernández clinched the equalizer heading in a great goal from a corner kick. Ramalho and Longo missed clear chances before Borja scored the second goal (37') assisted by Portu (37'). The second half was very exciting and Rubén Alcaraz sentenced the game in extra time.

Girona's line up was René, Ramalho, Alcalá, Pablo Marí, Sebas (Cifuentes, 86'), Pere Pons, Granell, Aday, Borja (Rubén Alcaraz, 83'), Longo (Cristian Herrera, 90') and Portu.

Girona has 24 points and is already in second place in the table.
