The U-21 Spanish National Team has achieved the first objective they had set for themselves prior to starting the U-21 European Championship.
The national team, led by Luis de la Fuente, has qualified for the semifinals of the continental tournament and thereby earned their ticket to the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.
Spain needed to win their final game in the Group Stage and did so with a very convincing 5-0 against Poland. Junior Firpo, who played the 90 minutes against Belgium in the second game, watched the match from the bench.
Spain’s will face France in the semifinals. The other finalist has yet to be decided as Germany take on Romania, the great revelation team of the tournament.
