The Handball Spanish National Team won the bronze medal in the World Championship in Egypt, after beating France, one of the best teams in the world, by 35-29 in the consolation final.
Jordi Ribera's team recovered from their defeat in the semi-final game against Denmark and completed a brilliant match to return from El Cairo with another medal. The Hispanos imposed their law from the beginning and dominated the game until the end leaving the French giants without options to come back. The talent and union of the players that characterize the Spanish team obtained a well-deserved award in this World Championship.
This bronze medal is the third one in an intercontinental tournament for Viran Morros, after having achieved the gold one in 2013 and another bronze in 2011. Meanwhile, Gonzalo Pérez de Vargas debuts with this distinction at a World Cup. All these recognitions are added to the four medals that they conquered together with the Spanish National Team in a European Championship: bronze in 2014, silver in 2016 and two back to back golds in 2018 and 2020. Two legends of Spanish handball. An enviable record. A unique generation.
